I am super excited to announce that 2009 marks Gotham City Online’s 10 year anniversary! As you may know, Gotham City Online is more than just the best place to shop for unbeatable prices on designer shoes online. We have a passion for helping others which has grown along with our company’s success (I encourage those new to our site to read more about our charity work). Thanks to customers like you, Gotham has helped raise over $1,300,000 for charity since 1999! But we’re definitely not stopping there.
We have all been affected by the recent slide in the economy. Schools and other charity organizations are hurting more than ever and unfortunately even fewer people will be able to lend assistance due to their own financial situation. Even animal shelters are reporting unusually high rates of animal abandonment due to some families having to decide between feeding themselves or their pets!
Gotham is grateful to be in a position to help out our friends, so in celebration of our 10 year anniversary and the coming holiday season, we plan to do just that. You don’t have to do anything different, just keep shopping! Soon we will be donating 10% of your purchase (no extra charge) to a worthy charity. But here’s the best part… you get to pick which charity you want to support each time you place an order!
We already have some great causes in mind but we want your help too. If you know any registered charities or worthwhile community organizations that could use our help, please let me know! If you post a comment below with your idea/organization, I will be happy to contact you back via email to provide you with additional information (just be sure to provide a valid email address!).
Cheers! -Chloe (aka GothamGirl)

I think you should donate to the SPCA or PETA. Maybe animal shelters if you’re looking at more local places. Definitely a no-kill shelter.
woo vegans (who also love shoes)!!
thanks, sarina
I am currently an intern at Lantern financial in Boston MA. i am helping to put together a charity benefit to get out name out into the world and to help an organization called Business and Baseball. The organization helps children realize the job opportunities in sports, particularly baseball, that do not included being an actual player. It is a very new organization and when i heard that you needed an idea for charities i couldn’t stop myself from writing to you.
The Boys Girls Club of Rochester has an Image Makers program and the youth would definitely benefits…we don’t have any camera!!! Yikes!!
ImageMakers is a comprehensive photography program for all Boys & Girls
Clubs members from ages 6-18. Each session of ImageMakers will involve
Students in: hands-on activities; examinations of photographs from current
news media and from famous photographers; discussions of composition
and intention; practical drills to acquire new skills; and final challenges to
reinforce the sessions explorations. Whether it’s creating a self-portrait,
documenting a family event, or exploring the club itself, members get invo-
lved on both sides of the lens.
Thanks for all the great suggestions so far. We have contacted you all so we hope to see you or your organizations signed up soon.
Thanks again and keep the suggestions coming!
I raise money for the National Multiple Sclerosis Foundation every year. I participate in their walks and bike rides also. MS has affected one of my best friends for the last 10 years. She was diagnosed in college and I have seen it slowly disable her over the years. However, she is a strong women and has not let it stop her. I cannot stop her disease personally but I want to do my part in raising money to find a cure for her and the many men and women that it affects. Thank you for any help!
